The Latrobe Regional Gallery was host to The Grid Installation on Wednesday, 26 to Sunday, 30 August 2009.  The installation featured a range of works collected during the Gathering the Yarn stage of the project and also featured the launch of the Pylon Tree. The installation aimed to highlight the range of thoughts and feelings that people are currently experiencing in regards to climate change, and how they specifically related to the community of Latrobe City.

The event included a performance by the Coal Valley Male Chorus, who were mentored by Choirmaster Steven Taberner.  A range of films were also incorporated into the work which were submitted as part of The Grid  - SP AusNet Short Film Competition, and films made by local schools in the area as part of a separate mentoring project. A variety of local groups created works for the event including the Koorie unit at GippsTAFE. Other works included a graphic presentation of the Climate Change Survey and origami butterflies.
